PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dave Krawl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Obi Wan King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dave Krawl!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Obi Wan King!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King slaps away a takedown attempt from Krawl, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Krawl really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
King scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
King shoots in for a double leg but Krawl sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
King tries to clinch but Krawl is having none of it.

and Krawl counters with a head kick.
King throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krawl.
King connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Krawl shoots in looking for a takedown but King manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Krawl's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Krawl counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Krawl takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

King wants to pass the guard but Krawl is keeping the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by King.

King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Krawl jumps guard and drags King to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Krawl has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
King slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Obi Wan King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Krawl has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
