PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alpha Male (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Satan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Male comes to the cage accompanied by One 24. Satan is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bullet For My Valentine - Hit The Floor. Damien Satan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Male keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Satan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Satan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Male throws a leg kick but Satan checks it.
Satan misses with an uppercut.
A jab from Satan misses.
Satan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Decent striking displayed by Satan there.
Alpha Male seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Satan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Male throws a head kick that misses.
Satan thows a body shot but no joy.

Satan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Male as he avoids it easily.

Satan throws a lazy right hand but Male sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Male tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Satan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Satan misses with a leg kick.
Male misses the shot to the body.
Satan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Male throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Satan.
Male throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Satan checks the leg kick nicely there.
Male wants to clinch up but Satan keeps it at a distance.
Satan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Male connects with a crisp jab.
Male displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Satan throws out the jab.
Male bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Male tries to close the distance and clinch but Satan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Satan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Satan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Satan slips a jab and a cross from Male.

Satan clinches up with Male and pushes him back against the cage.
Satan misses with a hook from the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Satan tries to throw a body punch but Male avoids it by throwing Satan back against the cage.
Male pushes Satan back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Satan has clasped his hands together around Male's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Satan throws a leg kick but Male sees it coming and moves out of range.
Satan looks for a takedown but Male sprawls well.
Male lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Male tries to clinch but Satan is having none of it.

Male closes the distance and pushes Satan back into the cage.

Male throws an overhand right that lands on Satan's shoulder, as Satan tries to avoid the shot.
Male has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Satan tries to work over Male's front leg with a kick but Male checks it.
Satan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Damien Satan seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Male counters with a nice low kick that buckles Satan's knee momentarily.
Male is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Satan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Male tries to bum rush Satan with a series of wild strikes but Satan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Satan misses with an uppercut. Male saw that one coming.
Male lands a nice shot that snaps Satan's head back.
Male is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Male scores with a push kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Satan thows a body shot but no joy.
Satan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Male is fending him off so far but Satan persists. Nope, Male circles away and we're back to standing.
Male uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Satan.

Satan thuds his shin into the meat of Male's side.

Male takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Good leg kick by Male there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Male fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Satan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Satan is breathing heavily.
Satan shoots in and drives through. Male sprawls well.
Alpha Male has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damien Satan.
Male lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Satan throws a series of punches but Male avoids them all with ease.
Male uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Satan.
A head kick misses from Satan.
Satan takes a kick to the side of the head.

Male feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Satan's calf.
Male pushes Satan away with a front kick.

Male throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Satan is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Satan tries to pull guard but Male holds him up against the cage and eventually Satan drops back down to his feet.
Satan struggles to land a body shot inside as Male controls his hands.

Male moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Male tries a low kick but Satan avoids it.

Male has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Satan finds it's way round the side to connect with Male's head.

Satan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Satan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Male is looking to chop away at Satan's legs.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Male.
Satan moves out of range of the body kick from Male.
Male scores with a kick to the midsection.
Satan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Male moves away.
Male thuds a left hand into Satan's body.
Male tries a head kick but it misses.
Male wants to slow Satan down by chopping away at his legs.
Male is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Male.
Male lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Satan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Male looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Satan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Satan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Satan lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Male avoids a strike by Satan and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Satan's guard! Fantastic escape!
Satan is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Satan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Male defends well.

Male will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Male's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Alpha Male has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Male tries to sprawl but Satan drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Male won't allow Satan to pass to mount.
Male regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Satan.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Satan wants to control from the top but Male keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Damien Satan.
I think Satan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
