The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porunov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Porunov avoids the head kick by Jaa.
Jaa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jaa tries to score with a low kick but Porunov moves his leg out of the way.

Jaa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Porunov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jaa tests Porunov's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Porunov shoots for a double leg takedown but Jaa sprawls well. He's pushed Porunov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jaa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Porunov. That did some damage!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We're going to have a standup here because Rony Jaa wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Porunov.

Rony Jaa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Porunov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jaa defends it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jaa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Jaa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Porunov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jaa avoids it really well and circles away.
Ilya Porunov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jaa misses with a head kick.
Porunov tries for a takedown but Jaa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jaa throws a good cross that connects.

Porunov is rocked!
Porunov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jaa tries to avoid it but Porunov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jaa to the ground. Jaa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Porunov gets tackled into the cage by Jaa. Jaa maintains the clinch.
Porunov is looking to break free of the clinch but Jaa has double underhooks.
Jaa with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Jaa prevents the takedown attempt.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jaa obliges.
Jaa throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Porunov blocks it with crossed arms.
Jaa connects with a knee to the head.

Jaa using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Porunov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jaa misses with a knee to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Porunov fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jaa is working Porunov over against the cage.
Porunov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jaa walks away with a smile on his face. Porunov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jaa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jaa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rony Jaa is winning the standup battle so far.
Jaa lands a head kick!
Porunov is still on wobbly legs! Can Jaa finish him?
Porunov shoots in but Jaa avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Porunov fails with the takedown
and Jaa counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Jaa looks at the referee who does nothing so Jaa lands a crushing right that sends Porunov to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rony Jaa!
