PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rylan Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gardner comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Goodtimes kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Andersson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Andersson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gardner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Andersson thinking.
Andersson has his takedown stuffed
and Gardner counters with a stiff right hand.

Andersson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Andersson is looking to pass Gardner's guard but actually Gardner recovers to full guard.
Gardner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gardner pulls Andersson in close to prevent any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gardner can do anything to dispel that myth.

Andersson tries to free his leg and advance position but Gardner is retaining full guard.
Andersson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gardner is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Andersson drops back looking for a leg! Gardner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gardner manages to kick Andersson off! Andersson jumps back into Gardner's guard.

Gardner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gardner's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Andersson is wriggling around trying to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andersson tries to lock up and control but Gardner gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andersson moves forwards but Gardner connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gardner lands a big right hook! Andersson looks hurt but is still standing! Gardner lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Andersson falls down and Gardner dives in with a huge hammer fist! Andersson's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Gardner runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
