Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adrian Monk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Drake!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Drake shoots in and bounces Monk off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Drake trying to control the position from guard on top but Monk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Monk has Drake pulled in close to control his posture.

Drake has gone for a leg lock! Monk slips out almost immediately though and dives into Drake's guard.
Monk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Drake is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Drake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monk is trying to maintain the position but Drake is very close to passing his half guard.

Drake stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Monk dives in and grabs Drake's left leg, looking for a takedown. Drake pushes down on Monk's head and hops out.
Monk shoots in but no luck this time.
Drake is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Drake closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Drake lands in his opponent's guard.

Drake stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Drake misses with a takedown attempt - Monk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Drake is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Drake is looking for a kimura but Monk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Drake to get the leverage.
Drake works his foot free and advances to mount.
Drake controlling the pace for now.
Monk is breathing heavily.
Monk is squirming around, avoiding Drake's attempts to control the action.
Drake looking to ground and pound but Monk is blocking nicely.

Drake goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Monk is on top in guard.
Drake pulls Monk in close to prevent any damage.

Drake looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Drake dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Monk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Drake as he jumps to the side.
Adrian Monk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drake showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Monk.

Monk pushes Drake up against the cage in a clinch.
Drake stops a takedown attempt from Monk.
Monk is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Drake gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adrian Monk. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Monk changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Drake fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Monk gets caught napping as Drake dives in and scores a takedown. Monk manages to retain guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drake controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Drake is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Drake tries to free his leg and advance position but Monk is retaining full guard.
Drake stands and throws Monk's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Drake working the ground and pound but Monk is defending the strikes.

Drake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Drake is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Monk is trying to escape and Drake transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Monk is forced to tap! Nice work there by Drake! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nick Drake!
