The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten scores with a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Rutten. No joy for Sadecki on that attempt.
Sadecki throws a hook to the side of Rutten's head but Rutten sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rutten throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rutten will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sadecki ducks under a wild hook from Rutten.
Sadecki looks to land a combination but Rutten avoids it well.
Bas Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rutten lands a big head kick that sends Sadecki tumbling to the mat! Rutten takes a step backwards and waves Sadecki back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rutten tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sadecki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
