Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tatsuya Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Darren Fogerty!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fogerty is fending him off so far but Aoki persists. Nope, Fogerty circles away and we're back to standing.
Aoki swinging wildly here.
Aoki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fogerty tries to avoid it but Aoki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fogerty to the ground. Fogerty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fogerty gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Aoki to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Fogerty keeping moving, preventing Aoki from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fogerty looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Aoki puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Aoki trying to control the pace.
Fogerty is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Aoki wants to control but Fogerty is keeping him busy.
Fogerty keeping hold of Aoki's head, controlling as best he can.
Aoki looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fogerty with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Aoki trying to control the action but Fogerty is working from the bottom.
Tatsuya Aoki has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Aoki misses with a wild combination.
Fogerty closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Aoki did well to prevent Fogerty getting side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fogerty scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Aoki gets full guard.
Fogerty is fighting to break Aoki's control of his arms but Aoki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Fogerty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aoki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fogerty wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aoki tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Aoki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Fogerty is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Aoki lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Aoki is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Aoki working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Fogerty looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Aoki! Submission of the night perhaps?
