PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Barton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Professor F (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). F has chosen shortest man in world as his entrance music. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Professor F has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Barton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Professor F!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barton works over F's head and body with a nice combination.
Barton is breathing heavily.
Barton connects with a looping right hand.

Barton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. F sprawls well initially but Barton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
F is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Barton scores with a couple of nice shots.
F looks like he's trying to stand up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

F is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Barton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Barton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

F is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Barton is keeping busy.

F is looking to control Barton's arms but Barton gets an underhook and turns him. Now F has his back to the cage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Barton moves into the clinch successfully.
Barton is pushing F up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
