Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fiodor Jemelianko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jemelianko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Flare.
Jemelianko shoots for a takedown but Flare saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jemelianko swats away the attempt to clinch by Flare.
Jemelianko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Flare moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Flare fails with a takedown attempt.

Jemelianko shoots in and gets a takedown into Flare's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jemelianko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flare is keeping the position for now.
Jemelianko trying to control the position from guard on top but Flare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jemelianko works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Flare moves into full guard.

Flare working for a triangle but Jemelianko defends it easily.
Jemelianko is pushing down on Flare's leg trying to pass to half guard. Flare is fighting to maintain full guard but Jemelianko has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jemelianko seems to be looking for submissions.

Jemelianko is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jemelianko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Flare is defending against the submission attempts here by Jemelianko.

Jemelianko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Flare's head.
Jemelianko is thwarting Flare's attempts to control the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Flare trying to control the position from guard on top but Jemelianko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jemelianko is looking for a triangle here but Flare uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
You can see the frustration on Jemelianko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Flare is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jemelianko has escaped the position, nice work there.
Jemelianko pushes Flare away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Flare gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Flare gets to mount! Jemelianko was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jemelianko wants to control but Flare is having none of it.
Jemelianko gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jemelianko has one foot on Flare's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Jemelianko is breathing heavily.

Flare throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jemelianko was covering up waiting for the punch and Flare finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jemelianko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Flare pinned against the cage. Flare gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No luck for Flare with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flare scores with a three punch combo!
