The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera blocks the body kick.
A clash of legs there as Cavalera blocks the low kick.
Lucas wants to slow Cavalera down by chopping away at his legs.
Cavalera throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lucas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cavalera.
Lucas misses with a hook.
Cavalera thuds a left hand into Lucas's body.

Cavalera uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lucas has time to react.
Cavalera just misses with a punch to the body.
Travis Lucas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lucas gets caught napping as Cavalera dives in and scores a takedown. Lucas manages to retain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cavalera wants to control from the top but Lucas keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lucas can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lucas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cavalera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
