PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Bisping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fox Mulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Bisping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Fox Mulder!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Bisping as Mulder shoots in.
Mulder shoots in but no luck this time.

Bisping instigates a clinch.

Bisping breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mulder closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bisping circles away.
Michael Bisping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fox Mulder.

Bisping closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mulder tries to break free but Bisping pushes him back against the cage.
Mulder lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Bisping breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bisping stuffs the takedown attempt from Mulder. Mulder gets slowly back to his feet.
Bisping tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mulder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bisping somewhat.

Mulder clinches with his opponent.

Mulder is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mulder wants a takedown but no success here.

Bisping's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mulder tries for a takedown but Bisping sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bisping lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bisping lands a nice shot to the body.
Bisping fails with a takedown attempt.
Bisping lands an overhand right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mulder fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Bisping has taken the fight to the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Bisping.
Mulder looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bisping manages to break the clinch.
Mulder displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bisping.

Bisping darts in and clinches Mulder up against the cage.

Bisping's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bisping looks to score with a jab to the body but Mulder is just out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bisping changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mulder tries to avoid it but Bisping manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mulder to the ground. Mulder escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mulder shoots in but no luck this time.
Bisping fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bisping bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mulder's head.
Mulder fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd cheers as Bisping lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mulder doesn't seem phased though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bisping stalks Mulder and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mulder's face. Mulder staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mulder is looking to clinch but Bisping is avoiding it.
Bisping is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Bisping jabs Mulder right on the nose. Mulder blinks but takes it well.
Mulder tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bisping counters with a right hand to the body.
Bisping shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mulder eats them both and turns towards Bisping to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bisping shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mulder pinned against the cage. Mulder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Bisping dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mulder takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mulder tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bisping sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mulder somewhat.

Bisping closes the distance and clinches.
Mulder is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bisping is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mulder.
Bisping scores with a nice hook to the head.


Mulder is rocked!
Mulder tries to land knees in the clinch but Bisping avoids the damage to the body.
Bisping unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mulder lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Bisping is stalling here.

Bisping breaks from the clinch.
Mulder shoots in for a takedown but Bisping shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bisping scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Bisping stands up.
Michael Bisping is winning the standup battle so far.
Mulder seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Bisping shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Mulder is backing up but Bisping catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Mulder covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Bisping Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Bisping!
