Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Rabel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Fortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Krzysztof Rabel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arnold Fortez!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabel keeps the fight on the outside.

Rabel tries to keep at a distance but Fortez has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rabel working hard to break the clinch.
Rabel tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fortez just stands there and leans against the cage.

Fortez breaks the clinch.
Rabel fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rabel shoots and misses

and Fortez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rabel's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Krzysztof Rabel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rabel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Fortez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rabel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rabel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rabel!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fortez is looking for a triangle here but Rabel uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Fortez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rabel blocks Fortez's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Fortez is trying desperately to improve position.

Rabel is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Fortez is surviving well by controlling Rabel's body position as best he can.
Fortez tries to hold on but Rabel pushes him away.
Fortez is wriggling around trying to escape.

Rabel avoids the attempt from Fortez to control.
Fortez is just holding on here. Rabel manages to take his back.

Fortez looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Rabel slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Rabel seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Fortez's chin but Fortez turns very nicely into Rabel's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Fortez.

and Fortez counters with a single leg into guard. Rabel didn't expect that.

Rabel controls Fortez momentarily but Fortez frees himself.

Fortez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Arnold Fortez.
Fortez lands with a nice combination. Rabel backs away looking to recover.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fortez is working Rabel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fortez wants to control but Rabel is keeping him busy.

Fortez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rabel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Fortez is trying to work for a kimura but Rabel is defending well.
Rabel is in trouble now - Fortez has advanced to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fortez lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arnold Fortez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Fortez works over Rabel's head and body with a nice combination.
Horrible takedown by Rabel or perhaps it was just good defense by Fortez which made him look bad.
Rabel keeps the fight on the outside.
Rabel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fortez shoots in but Rabel avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fortez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rabel tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Fortez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rabel keeps working.

Rabel is looking to reverse the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fortez decides to stand back up.

Fortez feints and as Rabel raises his hands in defense, Fortez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rabel is pulling down on Fortez's head to control his posture.
Fortez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rabel is keeping the position for now.
Fortez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Fortez has gone for a leg lock! Rabel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fortez's guard.
Rabel wants to pass the guard but Fortez is keeping the position.
Fortez will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fortez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Krzysztof Rabel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Arnold Fortez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fortez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Arnold Fortez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fortez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
