The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogatu throws a nice outside leg kick.
Melendez is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bogatu.
Bogatu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Good leg kick by Bogatu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bogatu is looking to chop away at Melendez's legs.
Bogatu moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Melendez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bogatu sprawls well initially but Melendez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bogatu is trying to stand up here but Melendez is controlling him well.
Bogatu is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Melendez seems to be working for a kimura but Bogatu defends the submission attempt.

Melendez has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bogatu defend it? Melendez steps over the head and cranks it - Bogatu is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Melendez!
