Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Huerta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarmo Ek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ek has chosen Pixies - Tame as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ek tries to clinch up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Huerta throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ek works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Huerta wants to control from the top but Ek keeps moving.
Ek wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Huerta closes the distance and clinches.
Ek landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Ek tries to pull guard but Huerta holds him up against the cage and eventually Ek drops back down to his feet.
Huerta is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Huerta goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ek prevents it.

Huerta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ek is just riding it out for now. Huerta eventually gives up the hold.

Huerta decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ek, up you get!

and Huerta counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ek thinking.

Huerta tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ek.
Ek is pressing down on Huerta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Ek is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ek lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Huerta!

Ek postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Huerta to stand up.

Huerta moves into range and clinches up with Ek.
Ek tries to pull guard but Huerta won't allow it.
Ek using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Huerta has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Ek doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Huerta counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ek's guard now.
