The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gates throws an overhand right that lands on Williams's shoulder, as Williams tries to avoid the shot.
Gates bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Williams's head backwards.
Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for Gates on that attempt.
Gates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That kick from Williams tenderised Gates's leg. Gates is trying to keep his angry face on.
