The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blaster gets a takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Benson wants to control but Blaster is keeping busy.

Blaster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Benson is just riding it out for now. Blaster eventually gives up the hold.

Benson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blaster is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Benson.

Blaster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blaster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Blaster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Benson as he jumps to the side.

Benson gets caught napping as Blaster dives in and scores a takedown. Benson manages to retain guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
