Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Wesker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simpson comes to the cage accompanied by The Fire by The Roots. Steve Simpson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albert Wesker!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Simpson. That's going to slow Wesker down.

Wesker throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simpson was covering up waiting for the punch and Wesker finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Let's hope that Wesker has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wesker has hold of one of Simpson's legs. Simpson is fighting the takedown attempt but Wesker gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Wesker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Simpson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Simpson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wesker's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wesker shoots in looking for a takedown. Simpson tries to sprawl out of it but Wesker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Simpson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wesker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Simpson, who protects the arm well.
Wesker is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Simpson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Wesker feints and as Simpson raises his hands in defense, Wesker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Albert Wesker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Simpson has gone for a leg lock! Wesker slips out almost immediately though and dives into Simpson's guard.

Albert Wesker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wesker would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Well Wesker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Albert Wesker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
