The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter drops Fukiko with a beautiful combination! Fukiko stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Carter is looking for the KO!

It looks like Ryuzo Fukiko has been cut.
Carter shoots for a takedown but Fukiko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carter throws a right and a left that Fukiko avoids nicely.
Fukiko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fukiko wants it to stay on the feet.
Carter falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fukiko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Jerome Carter has been cut.
Carter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carter blocks a jab.
Fukiko slaps away a takedown attempt from Carter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ryuzo Fukiko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Carter.
Fukiko connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Carter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fukiko swivels and escapes.
Carter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fukiko misses with a wild body shot.
Jerome Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fukiko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carter.
Fukiko lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Fukiko throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Carter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Carter looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fukiko feints a jab promting Carter to slip. Fukiko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carter slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Carter fails to land with a series of punches.
Fukiko lands with a shot to the body.

Fukiko waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Carter. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Carter to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Carter is rocked!

That has opened up Jerome Carter's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fukiko loads up on a big left hand. Carter felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Fukiko looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Carter can't hide his disappointment, as Fukiko celebrates the victory.
