The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiz JR drives through and clinches with Castro against the cage.
Ortiz JR looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Castro as Ortiz JR tries to tie him up.
Ortiz JR jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Castro walks away with a smile on his face. Ortiz JR gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ortiz JR checks the leg kick nicely there.
Ortiz JR misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Castro looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Castro lands a big head kick that sends Ortiz JR tumbling to the mat! Castro takes a step backwards and waves Ortiz JR back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like James Ortiz JR has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Castro throws a right and a left that both miss.

Castro moves into the clinch successfully.
Castro has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ortiz JR is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Castro pulls guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Castro pushes Ortiz JR off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Castro dives in and scores a takedown into Ortiz JR's guard.

Castro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Castro thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Castro stays in close to Ortiz JR's body and controls the position.
Castro forces his way into half guard.

Castro seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ortiz JR for as long as he can get away with.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Alexander Castro wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Castro throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Ortiz JR gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Castro controls from within his opponent's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ortiz JR paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Castro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Ortiz JR can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Castro controls the pace.
Ortiz JR can't keep his opponent in guard - Castro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Castro has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ortiz JR is looking to escape.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Castro passes the guard and advances to mount!

Castro jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ortiz JR manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Castro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ortiz JR knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Castro gets to mount! Ortiz JR was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Castro darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Castro has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Castro looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Ortiz JR really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Ortiz JR takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Castro is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Ortiz JR is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Ortiz JR flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Castro anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Ortiz JR and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Castro slips an arm under Ortiz JR chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Castro has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Castro is squeezing on Ortiz JR like an anaconda would it's prey. Ortiz JR fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alexander Castro!
