Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Timbe Suomi!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Santiago with that takedown attempt.

Suomi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Suomi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Suomi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Suomi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Santiago defends it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suomi postures up in Santiago's guard and throws a big left but Santiago blocks it.
Suomi wants to control from the top but Santiago keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Suomi keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Santiago's head.

Suomi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Suomi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Suomi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Santiago is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Suomi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Santiago's back instead.

Santiago manages to reverse the position and now he's in Suomi's guard. Nice work there by Santiago.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
