Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emerson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manu Samosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samosa is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Specials - A Message To You Rudy . Emerson Silva had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samosa closes the distance and clinches up with Silva, looking for a takedown. Samosa pushes Silva against the cage but Silva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Samosa napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Silva misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Samosa is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Samosa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Samosa dodges the ground and pound from Silva.
Samosa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Samosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Samosa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Samosa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Samosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Samosa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Silva thows a huge punch but Samosa dodges it nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Samosa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Silva has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Samosa sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Samosa is trying to force a seperation but Silva has the dominant position.
Samosa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oh but Silva is tightening it up a little... Samosa has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
