Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Gaulterie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Head has chosen Walk as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gaulterie throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gaulterie shoots and misses

so Head counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Head postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gaulterie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Head, into his guard.

Head has his foot on Gaulterie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gaulterie works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gaulterie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gaulterie wants to get up but he can't break Head's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gaulterie throws a strike but Head rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Head is looking to work some ground and pound but Gaulterie has wrist control.

Head drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gaulterie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gaulterie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gaulterie!
Head is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gaulterie off and has taken his back!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Head is throwing strikes by Gaulterie counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Gaulterie regains half guard.

Head looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Head escapes and gets back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Head. No joy for Gaulterie on that attempt.

and Head counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gaulterie's guard now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Head connects with a nice short shot to Gaulterie's temple.

Head is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Head!
