Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Saeng Arthit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Spliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Saeng Arthit has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Saeng Arthit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Spliff!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arthit darts in trying to clinch

and Spliff counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Spliff.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Spliff drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Arthit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spliff has Arthit in his guard.
Arthit looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arthit wants to stand but Spliff has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Spliff working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Arthit has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Spliff with the active half guard here but Arthit passes nicely into side control.
Spliff is looking to regain half guard here but Arthit keeps moving and retains side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spliff trying to remain calm as Arthit controls from the top position.
Arthit wants to control but Spliff is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spliff is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Arthit off and has taken his back!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Arthit is having to fend off submission attempts from Spliff, who is looking to sink in the choke. Spliff doesn't have the hooks in though and Arthit manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Arthit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spliff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Saeng Arthit wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Spliff tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arthit sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spliff somewhat.
Arthit tries to clinch but Spliff moves away

and Spliff counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Arthit's guard now.

Spliff drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Arthit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Spliff has Arthit in his guard.
Arthit wants to get up but he can't break Spliff's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Spliff dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Arthit moves to clinch but Spliff breaks away

and Spliff counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Arthit makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Arthit.
Spliff passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Spliff is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Arthit is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Spliff goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Arthit rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Spliff's guard! Nice work there by Arthit!
Arthit would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arthit slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Arthit really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Arthit wants to stand but Spliff is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Arthit slips nicely into half guard.
Arthit performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Spliff actively working from the bottom here.
Arthit slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Saeng Arthit wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Arthit tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spliff paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Saeng Arthit is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Spliff shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arthit pinned against the cage. Arthit gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Arthit tries to clinch up

and Spliff counters with a nice double leg into side control. Arthit won't be happy with that.

Spliff tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Spliff has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Spliff swings around for an armbar but Arthit sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Spliff's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Spliff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Spliff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Arthit tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Spliff counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Arthit's guard now.

Spliff postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Arthit is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spliff, into his guard.

Arthit has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Spliff to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Arthit is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Spliff pulls down on the head and he's put Arthit to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Eddie Spliff!
