The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Pound misses

and Grandi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Grandi.
Grandi looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Pound is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Pound's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pound throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Kari Grandi has been cut.
Pound looks to land a body kick but Grandi moved away.

Pound closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pound lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Pound blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Pound breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pound throws a head kick but Grandi moves out of range.
Grandi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Grandi counters by clinching up.
Grandi misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pound.

Pound wants a takedown but no success here.

Pound lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Pound pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Grandi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Pound. That one must have hurt.

Pound has managed to clinch.

Pound breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pound lands with a right that hurts Grandi. Grandi looks to clinch but Pound throws a short knee that drops Grandi. This one is all over!
