Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Whissell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mathers might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Victory by Eminem. Whissell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rose Of Sharon. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathers throws a poor cross that misses

so Whissell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Whissell trying to control but Mathers is working from the bottom.
Mathers working a defensive guard here.
Whissell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Whissell won't allow Mathers to get back to his feet.
Whissell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mathers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mathers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Whissell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mathers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Whissell has Mathers in his guard.

Whissell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mathers rolls with it to try and escape but Whissell cranks on the arm and Mathers is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
