Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy McNasty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Zamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zamora has chosen Medieval Fiddle as his entrance music. Cody Zamora has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy McNasty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cody Zamora!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Zamora wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Zamora has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McNasty is trying to keep an underhook but Zamora manages to get the takedown into half guard.
McNasty is looking to improve his position.
McNasty trying to control but Zamora postures up.
McNasty is trying to get back to full guard.

McNasty actively working from the bottom here.
McNasty is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zamora's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zamora's back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNasty is trying to stick to Zamora's back but Zamora is turning into McNasty. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in McNasty's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Zamora.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zamora stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McNasty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McNasty looking for a guillotine here but Zamora defends easily.
McNasty wants to sweep but no luck.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zamora missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

McNasty throws his legs up looking for a submission but Zamora uses it to pass to side control.
McNasty is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Zamora wants to lay and pray for a moment but McNasty keeps working.
McNasty is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zamora off and has taken his back!

McNasty working for a choke but Zamora is defending well.
Zamora looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Zamora is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but McNasty is staying active.
You can see the frustration on Zamora's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Zamora is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

McNasty has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Zamora has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Zamora trying to control the action but McNasty just sinks the hooks in.
Zamora wants to get back to his feet.
Zamora turns into McNasty and is now in his guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McNasty is looking for a triangle here but Zamora uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Zamora dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McNasty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zamora as he jumps to the side.
Zamora throws a sloppy head kick and McNasty moves out of range easily.

Zamora has McNasty up against the cage in a clinch.
McNasty wants to break free but Zamora has control.
Zamora taking a breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zamora keeps control of McNasty as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
McNasty changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zamora fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McNasty wants to land a leg kick but Zamora is out of range.

Zamora keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy McNasty. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zamora shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Zamora throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

McNasty is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Zamora pulls his head out easily.
Zamora lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Zamora wants to control but McNasty is keeping him busy.
Zamora wants to free his trapped foot but McNasty is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McNasty looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Zamora is nestled in close to McNasty, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
McNasty misses with a takedown attempt
and Zamora counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
McNasty scores with a crisp jab that stopped Zamora in his tracks.

McNasty has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Zamora uses from the top position.
McNasty utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

McNasty escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zamora gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McNasty has hold of Zamora's hands but Zamora slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cody Zamora showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


McNasty on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zamora. Zamora obviously looking to wear him down.
McNasty takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
McNasty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Zamora counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Zamora wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of McNasty's closed guard. He's half up but McNasty has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! McNasty pivots and extends the arm, Zamora falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by McNasty! Well done that man!
