The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Papillia avoids it really well and circles away.
Gomez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Papillia scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown but Papillia manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gomez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Papillia lands a left and a right that send Gomez crashing to the mat, dazed. Papillia thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Gomez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Papillia sprawls well. Papillia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.
