Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boxing Comte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoyt Jurgensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Comte's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Laser life by Blood Brothers. Jurgensen has chosen Peter, Paul & Mary - If I Had A Hammer as his entrance music. Hoyt Jurgensen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jurgensen misses with a combination
and Comte counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Jurgensen misses with a straight right.
Comte fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jurgensen on the side of the head.
Jurgensen has his takedown stuffed
and Comte counters with a one-two to the body.

Jurgensen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Comte tries to bench press Jurgensen off him but Jurgensen keeps the position.

Jurgensen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jurgensen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Comte keeps working.
Jurgensen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hoyt Jurgensen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jurgensen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Comte pinned against the cage. Comte gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jurgensen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Comte but Comte pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Comte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Comte wants it to stay on the feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Comte jabs Jurgensen right on the nose. Jurgensen blinks but takes it well.
Comte connects with a solid leg kick.

Comte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jurgensen manages to avoid it.
Jurgensen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Comte is fending him off so far but Jurgensen persists. Nope, Comte circles away and we're back to standing.

Comte pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jurgensen back to the cage. Comte follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Comte looks to land a combination. Jurgensen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
