Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robin Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karel Gil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gil has chosen Papa Roach - Last Resort as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robin Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Karel Gil!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks throws a series of punches but Gil moves out of range.

Banks drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Banks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gil is keeping the position for now.
Banks wants to control from the top but Gil keeps moving.
Gil pulls Banks in close to prevent any damage.

Gil shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gil was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gil pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Banks is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Gil sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Gil swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Banks is now in Gil's guard. A big mistake from Gil there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gil looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Banks misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gil moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Banks tries to close the distance and clinch but Gil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gil moves away from the strike by Banks.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Banks, as that shot connected.

Banks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Banks lands in his opponent's guard.

and Banks counters with a three punch combo that has Gil backing up. Gil nods at Banks to acknowledge the strikes.

Banks drives through and clinches with Gil against the cage.

Gil goes for a takedown in the clinch but Banks prevents it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gil sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Gil closes this distance looking for a takedown but Banks circles away.

Well Banks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
