Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Louis Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Pain!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pain's guard.
Pain trying to control the position.

Pain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Pain preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Cane is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pain working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cane.
Cane trying to control the position from guard on top but Pain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pain looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pain keeping full guard, as Cane tries to pass.
Cane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cane passes Pain's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pain wants to improve his position but Cane is controlling well.
Cane landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Pain is refusing to be controlled, as Cane sits in half guard.
Pain is looking to control Cane's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pain avoid being mounted?

Cane is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pain sees it coming and defends easily.

Cane tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cane is keen to just control but Pain is a slippery customer.

Cane is trying to control. Pain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cane pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cane trying to control from half guard but Pain is working away.

Cane is trying to control the action in half guard but Pain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cane wants to pass the guard but Pain is defending well.

Pain blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cane.
Cane uses his free foot to push down on Pain's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pain.
Cane takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Pain is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Cane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pain manages to avoid it.
Cane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pain tries to avoid it but Cane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pain to the ground. Pain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cane scores with a hook.
Pain throws a head kick but Cane moves out of range.
Danga de danga de dang - Cane scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Max Pain has been cut.
Pain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Cane decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Cane looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Pain trying to hold on to Cane's head to control him but Cane postures up.
Cane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cane wants to pass the guard but Pain is defending well.
Cane stalling.
Pain gets back to full guard.
Cane throws a big right hand that misses.

Cane slips nicely into half guard.
Cane trying to mount his opponent but Pain defends it.
Pain tries to get to full guard but Cane has control of the leg.

Pain looking for submissions off his back.

Pain is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cane pulls his head out easily.
Pain is breathing heavily.

Cane looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pain is trying to escape the mount.
Cane trying to control but Pain is having none of it.
Cane prevents Pain from getting the reversal.
Pain tries to hold on but Cane pushes him away.
Cane is trying to take his opponent's back.

Pain is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Cane goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pain is on top in guard.
Pain trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cane trying to control the position.
Cane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pain's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Max Pain's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Pain pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cane is out of range and Pain settles back down.
Pain plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Pain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cane.
Pain throws a head kick but Cane moves out of range.
Cane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pain is fending him off so far but Cane persists. Nope, Pain circles away and we're back to standing.
Pain tries to land a front kick but Cane steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cane slips a jab and a cross from Pain.
Cane avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Cane shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pain is desperately trying to improve his position but Cane has a good base and remains in mount.
Pain takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Cane moves to the back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cane throwing wild punches that miss their target.

Cane is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Pain defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Cane's arms.
Cane misses with punches from the back.
Pain breaks Cane's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pain looking to sit in guard and control but Cane gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Pain can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cane controls the pace.
Pain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pain had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cane defends it easily.
Louis Cane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cane is just content to waste time from the top position. Pain takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
