PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tappy McOut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurassa Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker has chosen Devil Inside as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tappy McOut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jurassa Walker!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a series of punches but McOut avoids them all with ease.

McOut fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Walker sprawls well initially but McOut persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
McOut seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Walker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McOut wants to pass the guard but Walker is defending well.
McOut is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Walker reverses the position - he's now on top in McOut's guard.

Walker wants to control from the top but McOut keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Walker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Walker clinches.
Walker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

McOut is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Walker can't fight it off and eventually McOut manages to take the fight to the floor. Walker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McOut distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
McOut throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McOut in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McOut gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McOut defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McOut looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McOut throws a strike but Walker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Walker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
McOut might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McOut keeping full guard, as Walker tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McOut is looking to stand up but Walker isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McOut manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
McOut scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Walker?

A nice elbow there by McOut.
McOut looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Walker really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Walker wants to hold on but McOut pushes him away.
Walker sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

McOut is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walker sees it coming and defends easily.
McOut sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Walker defending well though.

McOut is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Walker looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McOut thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Walker's head.

McOut is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Walker is just riding it out for now. McOut eventually gives up the hold.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McOut is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walker defends it well.
Walker tries to get to full guard but McOut has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tappy McOut dominated that round.
That's time! McOut's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


McOut takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
McOut throws a head kick that misses.

McOut throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McOut is in Walker's guard.

Walker has his foot on McOut's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McOut works his way back into a safe position though.

Walker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Walker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McOut has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
McOut with a flurry of punches that miss.

Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McOut gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walker is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Walker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
McOut is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
McOut slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Walker takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
McOut works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Walker dodges the ground and pound from McOut.
McOut trying to control the action but Walker is working from the bottom.
McOut fails to land a wild elbow strike.

McOut is working to tighten is grip on Walker's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Walker has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McOut is really squeezing tight and eventually Walker passes out! McOut breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Tappy McOut!
