The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Caraan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Waker's knee momentarily.
Waker throws a body kick the misses
and Caraan counters with an inside leg kick.
Waker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Caraan counters with a nice leg kick.
Waker fails to land with a series of punches.
Waker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Caraan counters with an inside leg kick.
Waker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Caraan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Waker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Caraan, into his guard.

Caraan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Waker is aware though and is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Waker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Caraan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Waker has managed to get both his arms back between Caraan's legs - danger averted.
Waker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
