Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Smith!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Costa avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Smith throws a right hand that Da Costa ducks under and follows up with a left that Da Costa also avoids with ease.
Da Costa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith looks to land a combination but Da Costa avoids it well.

Da Costa gets a double leg takedown into Smith's guard.
Smith is looking to stand up but Da Costa isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Da Costa passes Smith's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith is trying to stand back up but Da Costa is controlling him

Smith pushes Da Costa off looking to stand but Da Costa dives back in and keeps control.
Da Costa wants to pass to mount but Smith is defending the position.

Da Costa dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Da Costa fails with the takedown.
Da Costa shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Da Costa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Smith moves into range and connects with a jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Da Costa! He's out on his feet! Smith rushes in and drops Da Costa with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
