Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oscar Torres is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Max!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oscar Torres!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max scores with a shot to the body.
Torres tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Max takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Torres fails with an attempt to clinch.
Torres misses with an attempted mid kick.
Torres swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oscar Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Torres throws a low kick, looking for Max's leg but Max calmly moves out of range.
Torres throws a head kick but Max moves out of range.
Torres misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Max counter with a right hand.
Max tries to clinch but Torres moves out of range.
Max moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Torres has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Max uses from the top position.
Torres wants to sweep here but Max controlling him for the moment.
Max is fighting to break Torres's control of his arms but Torres is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Torres throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Max's waist but Max gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Torres off to one side.
Torres wants to clinch up but Max keeps it at a distance.
Torres scores with a head kick. Max tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Torres pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Max comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Max lands a jab-cross combination.
Torres looks gassed!
Torres shoots in looking for a takedown. Max tries to sprawl out of it but Torres keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Max manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Max throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Michael Max is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Max fails with an attempt to clinch.
Torres moves in looking to clinch but Max pushes him off.
Max scores with a body shot.
Max on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Torres. Torres obviously looking to wear him down.
Torres doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Max scores with a one two! Torres had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Torres throws a sloppy head kick and Max moves out of range easily.

Max has closed the distance and engaged Torres in a clinch.
Max lands with a short shot to the head.
Max is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Max lands a left hand that snaps the head of Torres backwards.

Torres manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Torres throws the kick towards the body but Max avoids it.
Max scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Torres scores a takedown into full mount!
Torres controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Torres throws some wild stikes that Max manages to avoid easily.

Torres looking to control and managing it successfully.
Max really wants to buck Torres off and get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Torres working the ground and pound effectively.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oscar Torres wasn't active enough on the ground.
Torres wants to clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Torres scores with a kick to the midsection.
Torres avoids the head kick by Max.

Torres decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Torres is taking a breather. Max says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Torres works his way into full mount!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oscar Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Torres throws a head kick that misses.
Max swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Max stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Max wants it to stay on the feet.
Max throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Max digs a good body shot into Torres's ribs.
Max lands a lovely overhand right.
Max is looking to wear down Torres with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Max smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Max on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Torres. Torres obviously looking to wear him down.
Torres finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

and Max makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Max on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Max throws a nice looking combination but Torres bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Torres has managed to clinch.
Max lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Max could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Max lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Max lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Max digs a right hand underneath Torres's ribcage. Torres let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Torres takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Torres is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Max drops Torres onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Torres is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Torres is still on wobbly legs! Can Max finish him?
Max creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Torres with a big uppercut! Torres tries to clinch up but Max pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Torres to the mat! Torres covers up and Max unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Michael Max!
