PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dean Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filippo Terranova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Filippo Terranova!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walsh tries for a takedown but Terranova sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Terranova scores a takedown into full mount!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Terranova is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Walsh has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Walsh!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walsh is in close to Terranova's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Walsh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Terranova swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Terranova escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walsh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Terranova has his foot on Walsh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walsh works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Terranova looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Walsh avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Terranova can't keep his opponent in guard - Walsh advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Walsh uses his free foot to push down on Terranova's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Terranova.
Terranova is in all sorts of trouble here.

Walsh is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Terranova to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Terranova shrugs it off.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Walsh cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Terranova is squirming around, avoiding Walsh's attempts to control the action.

Walsh lands with some strikes.

Walsh cracks Terranova with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
