Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Next Episode-Dr Dre. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws a head kick that Sakuraba semi-blocks.
Left hook, right uppercut from Martin.
Sakuraba shoots and misses
and Martin counters with a three punch combo that has Sakuraba backing up. Sakuraba nods at Martin to acknowledge the strikes.

Martin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Sakuraba is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Martin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jim Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazushi Sakuraba.
A right hook to the body lands for Martin.
Sakuraba on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Martin unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sakuraba lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Sakuraba has hold of one of Martin's legs. Martin is fighting the takedown attempt but Sakuraba gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Martin wants to stand up but Sakuraba is controlling him.

Sakuraba thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakuraba on the ground.
Martin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sakuraba is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sakuraba passes Martin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sakuraba works his way into full mount!
Sakuraba is landing with some decent strikes but Martin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Sakuraba is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Martin is forced to tap! Great finish!
