PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Spanish Bread (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Roc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bread comes to the cage accompanied by Aubrey. Roc has chosen J-Roc: Trailer Park Life as his entrance music. Jay Roc will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Roc!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bread changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roc looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Roc is looking for a sweep.
Bread landing strikes.
Roc wants to control but Bread postures up.
Bread lands a decent elbow from side control.

Bread swings around for an armbar but Roc sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bread's guard.

Roc avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roc is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roc trying to control but Bread is working from the bottom.

Bread is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Roc got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bread has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roc has managed to get both his arms back between Bread's legs - danger averted.

Bread escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roc gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Roc drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roc jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Roc scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bread keeping moving, preventing Roc from controlling successfully.

Roc cracks Bread with a solid left hand.

Bread working away from the top, dropping strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Roc sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bread wants to pass the guard but Roc is defending well.

Bread is looking for a kimura here.
Roc keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Roc pushes Bread off looking to stand but Bread dives back in and keeps control.

Bread is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roc doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bread.

Bread is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Roc as he works his way to full guard.
Bread with a flurry of punches that miss.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bread accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bread postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Roc pushes Bread off and gets back to his feet.
Roc scores with a nice head shot.

Roc tests Bread's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bread shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roc pinned against the cage. Roc gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bread takes one to the side of the head.
Roc feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Breads jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
A jab lands there for Roc.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bread keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roc fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bread manages to avoid it.

Bread takes one to the chin there.
Bread misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bread fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Spanish Bread. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Roc connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Bread moves away from the strike by Roc.
Bread has his takedown stuffed
and Roc counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Roc cracks Bread with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Roc with a jab.
Roc misses with a body shot.
Roc scores with a punch to the head.

Bread is rocked!

Roc shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Roc was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Oh Bread is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roc postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Bread in real trouble here! The ref calls for Bread to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
