PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hidetoshi Nakata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emer Dlouze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emer Dlouze told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Emer Dlouze!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nakata.
Dlouze jabs Nakata to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nakata takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Nakata shoots in for a double leg but Dlouze sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dlouze slips a nice elbow through Nakata's hands, connecting with Nakata's forehead.

Dlouze is stalling here. Nakata is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dlouze seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nakata has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nakata is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dlouze is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Nakata with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dlouze to score with a decent uppercut.

Dlouze uses his free foot to push down on Nakata's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nakata.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Dlouze fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Nakata is rocked!
Dlouze lands a big shot there that rocks Nakata but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Nakata is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nakata is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emer Dlouze dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Dlouze cracks Nakata on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Nakata falls backwards against the cage. Dlouze follows up with more strikes that drop Nakata to his knees. Dlouze keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Nakata! This one is all over!
