PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ted Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ted Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Jackson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Bundy, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Bundy against the cage but Bundy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bundy throws a nice looking combination but Jackson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bundy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A punch lands to the side of Bundy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jackson lands a nice looking body kick.
A swing and a miss from Bundy.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bundy.
A cross from Jackson lands.


It looks like Ted Bundy has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson shoots in looking for a takedown but Bundy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jackson.

and Jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bundy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jackson backs up against the cage.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson scores with a one two! Bundy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Bundy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bundy tries to get out of the position.
Jackson just content to control the position.
Jackson fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jackson is trying to ground and pound but Bundy uses the momentary lack of control by Jackson to regain half guard.
Jackson content to control rather than advance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brandon Jackson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Bundy thuds his right hand into Jackson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Jackson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bundy sprawls well. Bundy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.

and Bundy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Bundy had a free shot at his head there.
Jackson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Some wild striking there from Bundy.
Bundy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ted Bundy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson looks to throw the jab but Bundy is out of range.
Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bundy circles away quickly and effectively.
Good exchange - Jackson coming out on top.

Jackson stalks Bundy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bundy's face. Bundy staggers backwards, shaken.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bundy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
