Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vinicius Cavalcanti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cavalcanti comes to the cage accompanied by Pride. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cavalcanti gets a takedown into half guard.
Diaz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cavalcanti.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diaz trying to control from the bottom.
Cavalcanti takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cavalcanti has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Vinicius Cavalcanti wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cavalcanti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cavalcanti avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cavalcanti wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cavalcanti controls the pace.

Cavalcanti has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cavalcanti is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put Cavalcanti to sleep! This one is all over!
