Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kev Randle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Barba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kev Randle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Barba!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barba fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Randle, pushing him back against the cage.

Barba lands a takedown into guard.
Randle keeping moving, preventing Barba from controlling successfully.
Randle tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barba has gone for a leg lock! Randle slips out almost immediately though and dives into Barba's guard.
Randle passes into half guard.
Barba is trying to maintain the position but Randle is very close to passing his half guard.
Randle is looking to take a break and control but Barba is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Randle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Randle stops Barba from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Barba manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Barba is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Randle stands and throws Barba's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Randle is trying to move to mount but Barba reverses beautifully and ends up in Randle's guard.
Randle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Barba working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Barba is trying to get an arm triangle but Randle is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The strikes coming from Barba are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ground and pound from Barba seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Barba is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Randle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Barba thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Barba is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Randle doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barba.

Randle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Barba thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barba lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Randle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Barba.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Randle is trying to stand back up but Barba is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Barba dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Randle shoots for a takedown but Barba saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kev Randle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Barba closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Randle quickly recovers to half guard.
Barba is keen to just control but Randle is a slippery customer.
Barba takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frank Barba hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Barba feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Randle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Randle tries to get out of the position.

Barba in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Randle tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Barba!
