Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Robertson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roland Smith!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Robertson.
An inside leg kick lands from Robertson.
Robertson cracks Smith with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Robertson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Robertson moves away and avoids it.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Robertson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Robertson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Robertson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Robertson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Smith moves away.

Robertson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Robertson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Robertson manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Robertson's guard.

Robertson is not content to let Smith control the position.
Robertson is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Robertson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Robertson shrugs it off.
Robertson tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.

Smith has hold of Robertson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Robertson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Smith manages to capitalize on a mistake by Robertson to take his back!

Smith is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Robertson is defending well though. Smith let's go of the attempt for now.
