Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Attention Aie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phill Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.

Oooooh!!! Smith has knocked Aie down with a huge combo! Smith steps away and waves a wobbly Aie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Aie is rocked!

and Aie counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.
Oh Aie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Aie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Smith dives on top into guard.

Aie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Aie tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Aie seems to have got his legs back now.
Aie throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Aie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aie is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Smith is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Smith has escaped and now he's on top!

Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Aie has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Attention Aie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aie defends it easily.
