Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between kimbo slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). kimbo slice had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, kimbo slice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Sanders!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
slice shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanders but Sanders pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sanders tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sanders wants to clinch.
slice tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sanders counters with a nice double leg into side control. slice won't be happy with that.
Sanders is looking to take a break and control but slice is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
slice can't do much from the bottom here.
slice regains half guard.
Sanders passes the guard and advances to mount!

Sanders working for a guillotine from mount but slice is in no mood to give up.
Sanders looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
slice tries to hold on but Sanders pushes him away.
Sanders trying to control but slice is having none of it.

Sanders jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… slice is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by slice and Sanders has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
slice manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Sanders missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
slice is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sanders wants to pass to mount but slice is defending the position.
slice gets full guard.
Sanders wants to control from the top but slice keeps moving.
Sanders might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control slice kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
slice really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

slice gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
slice keeping moving, preventing Sanders from controlling successfully.

Sanders is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
slice has a closed guard, preventing Sanders from standing up.
Sanders passes slice's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sanders passes the guard and advances to mount!
slice tries to lock up and control but Sanders gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sanders with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
slice is trying to escape the mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sanders trying to control but slice is having none of it.
slice regains half guard.
Sanders is thwarting slice's attempts to control the position.
slice tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
slice is trying to maintain the position but Sanders is very close to passing his half guard.
slice makes his way to full guard. A much better position for slice.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Sanders dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


slice throws out a powerful jab.
slice digs a good hook to Sanders's body.
slice closes the distance but Sanders moves to the side

and Sanders counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in slice's guard now.
Sanders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. slice swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanders sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed slice's guard.

Sanders trying to work for an americana but slice has managed to regain full guard.
Sanders trying to control the position from guard on top but slice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
slice not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sanders must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Sanders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. slice swivels though and keeps the full guard.
slice will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sanders trying to control but slice is working from the bottom.
Sanders looking to sit in guard and control but slice gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sanders trying to keep a closed guard but slice is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
slice stuffs the takedown attempt from Sanders. Sanders gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
slice with a lazy takedown attempt

so Sanders counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Sanders is pushing down on slice's leg trying to pass to half guard. slice is fighting to maintain full guard but Sanders has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Sanders is looking to pass slice's guard but actually slice recovers to full guard.

Sanders stands up from guard. Let's bang!
slice looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
slice closes the distance and clinches up with Sanders, looking for a takedown. slice pushes Sanders against the ropes but Sanders circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for kimbo slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
slice has his takedown stuffed

so Sanders counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Sanders looking to pass the guard.
slice looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

slice has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sanders off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
slice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sanders counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Sanders looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Sanders trying to control from half guard but slice is working away.

Sanders looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

slice is trying to stand.
slice is not content to let Sanders control the position.
Sanders looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
slice has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sanders is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sanders seems to be working for a kimura but slice defends the submission attempt.
slice is refusing to be controlled, as Sanders sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Sanders showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Sanders shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanders showed some decent athleticism there.
Sanders wants to lay and pray for a moment but slice keeps working.
Sanders works his way into side control.

Sanders looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sanders stands up and beckons slice to his feet.
kimbo slice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sanders scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Sanders is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, slice has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sanders fails to land a wild elbow strike.
slice can't do much from the bottom here.
slice is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sanders is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Sanders wants to control but slice is keeping him busy.

Sanders goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, slice rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sanders's guard! Nice work there by slice!
Josh Sanders has got the better of the ground game so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sanders is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sanders shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and slice cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
slice throws a head kick but Sanders moves out of range.

slice drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sanders has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but slice can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
slice wants to control from the top but Sanders keeps moving.

slice is sitting in close to Sanders's body. Sanders has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! slice is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, slice is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sanders.
