Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gray quickly recovers to half guard.
Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gray knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jackson prevents Gray from improving his position.
Jackson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jackson slips a nice elbow through Gray's hands, connecting with Gray's forehead.
Jackson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Gray slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Gray has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson wants to control from the top but Gray keeps moving.
Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gray manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gray is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.
Gray moves to the back.

Jackson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gray gets his way!

Gray working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Jackson is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Gray has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Jackson taps out!
