Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Herold Hassium (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Ernst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ernst tries to close the distance and clinch but Hassium swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hassium.
Ernst moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hassium displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ernst throws out the jab.
Hassium will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hassium tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ernst sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hassium somewhat.

Ernst shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hassium's guard.

Hassium has his foot on Ernst's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ernst works his way back into a safe position though.

Ernst got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hassium has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ernst has managed to get both his arms back between Hassium's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hassium is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ernst is aware though and is defending well.
Hassium is breathing heavily.
Hassium can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ernst controls the pace.
Ernst postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hassium wants to get back to his feet but Ernst is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ernst controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hassium had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ernst defends it easily.

Ernst slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hassium manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ernst holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hassium tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ernst wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Ernst throws a jab but it's blocked by Hassium.
A jab lands there for Ernst.
Ernst changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hassium tries to avoid it but Ernst manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hassium to the ground. Hassium escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hassium looks to land a body kick but Ernst moved away.

and Ernst cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hassium looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hassium closes the distance and clinches up with Ernst, looking for a takedown. Hassium pushes Ernst against the cage but Ernst circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hassium misses with a takedown attempt - Ernst sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ernst throws a series of strikes that have Hassium backpedaling.

It looks like Herold Hassium has been cut.
Hassium is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ernst digs a good body shot into Hassium's ribs.
Ernst catches Hassium with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Ernst counters with a nice body shot.
Ernst connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Hassium takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ernst dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ernst lands a two punch combo.

Hassium is rocked!
Hassium takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Oh Hassium is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
