PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Keyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Raine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raine comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jay Z: Blueprint 2 kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stephen Keyes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldo Raine!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keyes throws a head kick but Raine moves out of range.
Keyes misses with a head kick.
Raine just misses with a punch to the body.
Keyes throws a head kick that misses.
Keyes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Raine.
Raine slips a jab from Keyes.
Raine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Keyes defends it nicely.
Raine misses with a straight right.
A combination from Raine does no damage.
Keyes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Raine manages to avoid it.
Keyes walks into a left hand.
Raine swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Keyes throws a nice outside leg kick.
Raine throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Keyes.
Keyes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Raine.
Raine steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Keyes.
Keyes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Raine circles away quickly and effectively.
Keyes fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Keyes throws a sloppy head kick and Raine moves out of range easily.
Keyes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Keyes.
Raine throws a series of punches but Keyes moves out of range.
Raine tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Keyes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Raine shoots in but Keyes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stephen Keyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aldo Raine.

Keyes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raine was well out of range. Poor timing from Keyes.
Raine cracks Keyes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Keyes misses with a series of wild punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Raine looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Raine throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Keyes.
Keyes lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Keyes lands with a slapping head kick.
Keyes scores with a one two! Raine had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Stephen Keyes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Raine fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Raine cracks Keyes with a good jab.
Keyes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Keyes lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Raine rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Keyes counters with an inside leg kick.

Raine dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Keyes misses with a series of wild punches.
Raine looks to land a combination but Keyes avoids it well.

Keyes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Raine's head backwards.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Raine misses with a right hand
enabling Keyes to counter with a crisp jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Raine checks a leg kick.
Keyes tests Raine's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Raine is rocked!
Keyes moves out of range as Raine strikes.
Raine is still on wobbly legs! Can Keyes finish him?
Keyes throws a body punch but Raine moves out of range.
Raine seems to have recovered his senses.

Raine instigates a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Raine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Raine lands a nice looking body shot.
Raine moves out of range as Keyes strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Keyes dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Keyes cracks a nice hook into Raine's ribs.
Keyes connects with a body shot that sends Raine's belly button to the back.
Raine throws a combination. Keyes tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Raine takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Raine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Keyes throws out the jab.

Keyes misses with a head kick.
Keyes misses the shot to the body.
Raine is breathing heavily.
Keyes throws a head kick but Raine moves out of range.

Raine just misses with a punch to the body.
Raine works over Keyes's head and body with a nice combination.
Raine throws a hook to the side of Keyes's head but Keyes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Raine crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Keyes - the referee stops the clock and Raine gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Keyes. Raine manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

and Keyes counters with a slapping leg kick.
Keyes lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Keyes lands a slapping body shot.
Keyes lands with a hook. Raine tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raine on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Keyes. Keyes obviously looking to wear him down.
Keyes feints and then cracks Raine's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Raine down.

Keyes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Raine fails with a takedown attempt.

Raine is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Keyes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Raine is trying hard to land a takedown here. Keyes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Keyes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Raine is looking to clinch but Keyes is avoiding it.
Raine takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Keyes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Raine.
The fighters circling - Keyes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Raine misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Keyes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Raine missing with a left hand there. Keyes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The crowd cheers as Raine lands an impressive looking overhand right. Keyes doesn't seem phased though.

Keyes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Raine circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Good leg kick by Keyes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Keyes swinging wildly here.
Raine just misses with a punch to the body.
Keyes walks into a straight right hand from Raine.
Keyes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Raine has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Keyes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Raine.
Keyes ducks right into an uppercut from Raine.
Keyes lands with a nice combination. Raine backs away looking to recover.
Keyes scores with a hook to the body. Raine takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Raine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Keyes scoring well with a low kick there.

Keyes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Keyes, as that shot connected.
Whack! Keyes lands a heavy head kick that drops Raine. The ref tackles Keyes to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Raine was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Stephen Keyes!
