Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hawthorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaoki Aomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawthorn's entrance music is Sam & Dave - Soul Man. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Shaoki Aomi enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaoki Aomi!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aomi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Aomi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aomi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aomi tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Aomi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aomi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Aomi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hawthorn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Aomi's guard! Nice work there by Hawthorn!
Aomi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hawthorn defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawthorn stands up from Aomi's guard - Hawthorn perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

No joy there for Hawthorn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Aomi has eaten all the pies!
Hawthorn tries to bum rush Aomi with a series of wild strikes but Aomi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Aomi takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Aomi misses with a takedown attempt
and Hawthorn counters with a one-two to the body.
Aomi looks gassed!
Hawthorn stalks Aomi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Aomi's face. Aomi staggers backwards, shaken.
Hawthorn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aomi.
Marcus Hawthorn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shaoki Aomi.
Hawthorn misses with a double jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aomi tries for a takedown but Hawthorn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Aomi closes the distance but Hawthorn moves to the side
and Hawthorn moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aomi goes for a takedown attempt but Hawthorn pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Aomi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Hawthorn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hawthorn tries to bum rush Aomi with a series of wild strikes but Aomi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Aomi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Hawthorn closes the distance and clinches.
Hawthorn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hawthorn rushes Aomi and presses him up against the cage.
Hawthorn connects with a nasty looking knee right to Aomi's face.

Hawthorn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

An inside leg kick lands from Hawthorn.

Aomi moves in looking to clinch but Hawthorn pushes him off.
Hawthorn moves into the clinch successfully.

Hawthorn jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Aomi tries to keep at a distance but Hawthorn has taken the fight into the clinch.

and Hawthorn counters with a head kick. That will keep Aomi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Hawthorn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aomi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hawthorn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hawthorn takes the fight into the clinch.

Knees in the clinch landing for Hawthorn.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hawthorn rushes Aomi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hawthorn lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Aomi is trying to maintain a safe position but Hawthorn gets an underhook and turns Aomi into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hawthorn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Aomi misses with a takedown attempt - Hawthorn sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hawthorn darts in and clinches Aomi up against the cage.

and Hawthorn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Aomi fails to land the takedown.
Aomi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hawthorn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hawthorn has Aomi up against the cage in a clinch.
Hawthorn gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Shaoki Aomi has been cut.
Hawthorn manages to break the clinch.
Aomi is breathing heavily.

and Hawthorn counters with a left and a right... And another left! Aomi is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
