The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson moves out of range of the strikes.
Okinawa looks for a takedown but Patterson sprawls well.
Patterson slaps away a takedown attempt from Okinawa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Patterson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Okinawa circles away quickly and effectively.
Okinawa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Patterson connects with a looping right hand.
Okinawa dodges the punch combination from Patterson.
Patterson with a hook.
Patterson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Okinawa swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Patterson counters with a straight right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Okinawa motions for Patterson to come forward. Okinawa throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Okinawa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Patterson lands a right hook to the body.
Patterson scores with a shot to the body.
A combination from Patterson does no damage.
Okinawa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Patterson counters with a nice body shot.
Okinawa looks gassed!
Nice uppercut lands for Patterson. That snapped Okinawa's head back.
Okinawa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Patterson but Patterson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Derek Patterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fujitsu Okinawa.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Patterson thuds a left hand into Okinawa's body.
Okinawa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Okinawa backs away from a small jab...but Patterson lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Okinawa crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Patterson with a spectacular finish!
