The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mindzatti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Mindzatti counters with a nice double leg into side control. Santos won't be happy with that.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Mindzatti tries to score with some ground and pound. Santos controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Santos is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mindzatti has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Mindzatti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mindzatti decides to stand back up. Mindzatti steps back and let's Santos get back to his feet.

Santos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
